By incorporating the video instructor's guide with the three Activities of Daily Living DVDs caregivers receive additional instruction and gain a more thorough understanding of providing proper cleanliness and competent assistance with bathing, preserving dignity, providing guided choices, observing changes, and taking appropriate safety precautions (Bathing, 10 minutes). In Mouth Care, Grooming, and Dressing (11 minutes), participants learn how creative care-giving accommodates the unique needs of each individual in the areas of mouth care, grooming, and dressing and how to assist those with varying degrees of ability by offering empathetic encouragement.Eating, Drinking, Toileting, and Transferring (11 minutes) shows how to provide aid to residents at mealtimes; how to take the proper steps when assisting with toileting; and how to correctly transfer a resident by incorporating proper body mechanics.
