The Medical Awareness Complete DVD Training and Certificate Program is designed to provide caregivers with a comprehensive understanding of the need for medical awareness through the use of three (3) participant manuals, an instructor's guide, a video instructor's guide, the set of two Vital Signs DVDs, three (3) exams and three (3) 22.50 CEU certificates upon successful completion, with an 85% or better, on the final, open-book exam.
The Medical Awareness manual covers infection control; how to respond to emergencies and other medical situations; the importance of observing, reporting and recording residents’ vital signs and health; medication management; the physical, emotional and social changes that result from aging; and, how to care for residents at the end of life.
By incorporating the video instructor's guide with the two Vital Signs DVDs, caregivers will receive additional instruction and gain a more thorough understanding of how to observe, measure, report, and record a resident's changing condition. In addition, participants will learn how the step-by-step process of measuring, reporting, and recording a resident's blood pressure and weight (Blood Pressure and Weight, 12 minutes) as well as the various techniques used to measure temperature, pulse, and respiration (Temperature, Pulse, and Respiration, 16 minutes).
